Crafty update

Hello Blogging world!

I haven't been baking much- I'm trying SO HARD to be good until my marathon (T-minus 13 days) but I have been able to fill my time with some crafts.  Let me say that none of these are original ideas, I totally stole them from Pinterest (which, by the way, is officially the biggest time suck-more than facebook and gossip sites combined).

First off, I wanted to get some metallic letters for something to put on the wall...something like:
But we don't have an Anthropologie and I hate to pay shipping and I wanted them NOW. RIGHT. NOW. So I was investigating and I found http://knockoffdecor.com/ a website that posts links to blogs that are more creative than this one.  Anyway, I found some faux zinc letters and I was curious..
So I started with my cardboard letter:

Painted it black:

Then painted a layer of pearl paint on top:

And voila! To my surprise it looked just like the zinc ones! Can you even!!
On the wall:
Note: I know! I didn't even use the D! I liked the one I bought from Grey is Grey better

Secondly, I made a seat cover for a bench.  This was the bench that I originally saw and loved.  Just FYI: NO ONE has striped fabric like that, and again, I'm too inpatient to order it online.  I decided to sew my own out of white and black fabric.  Pretty simple, right?  If I was a better blogger I would have taken better pics and included how I did it but I forgot!
This is halfway done. I thought "oh crap! I should take pics" but by this point it was too late.

We didn't have the bench but David was able to help me out and made one out of the legs from our side table and some wood:

This is the final product! I love it so much! Now, IDK if you can actually sit on it (and why would you sit in the hall, anyway?) but it's cute and that's all that matters.

We also repainted the bathroom this weekend.  The new counter comes in tomorrow so I will post pics once it is all done.  I am attempting to make a shower curtain. We'll see how that goes....

Lastly, I was cleaning out some old school stuff and I came across this handout from cultural foods:

This cracked me up! I don't remember who made this and if you have any idea please let me know! The country was The Philippines if that helps anyone out.
